Pro Class Registration Details

How the first-ever NAHA & Rockwell Dual Event will work at the 2019 Big Nasty Hillclimb:

If you are an NAHA or Rockwell Pro, please read on to understand how the pro part will work.  If you are NOT a pro, skip reading this section.  Both NAHA and Rockwell Pro registration is now open on links below.  All other registration, including semi-pro, trophy, altered and mini-bike is also open.

1. Pro riders may enter BOTH the Rockwell portion and the NAHA portion of the event, or they may enter ONLY the Rockwell portion or ONLY the NAHA portion.  To compete in any of the pro classes, you will need either an annual, or a 2-day NAHA or Rockwell pro license, (or both, if you are riding both).  To purchase a two-day NAHA license for $50, click here.  To purchase a two-day Rockwell license for $50, click here

2. Pro competition will happen as follows: 450, 700 and Open pros will compete all day Saturday, September 14, starting at 9am, and finishing no later than 6pm.  Saturday’s pro racing constitutes both Rockwell Pro Finals and NAHA Pro Qualifying.  If you are competing ONLY as an NAHA rider, you will pay those entry fees ($100 per class) and follow NAHA rules, which allow nitro and steel in 700 and Open classes.  If you finish in the top 32 in any of these classes on Saturday, you will be qualified to ride for a $20,000 pro purse on Sunday, September 15.  Only Rockwell ONLY riders will be riding for cash on Saturday.  NAHA riders will be riding for a qualifying position for Sunday.  If you are competing ONLY as a Rockwell rider, you will pay those entry fees ($100 per class) and follow Rockwell rules, which do NOT allow nitro and steel in 700 and Open classes, and DO allow 450’s to compete in the 700 class, (NAHA rules do NOT allow that).  You will be competing for a 90% payback purse on Saturday, and will not compete on Sunday.

3. If you are competing as both an NAHA rider, and a Rockwell rider, you will pay those entry fees ($100 per class, times two) and follow Rockwell rules on Saturday and NAHA rules on Sunday, (if you qualify high enough to compete on Sunday).  If you are riding ONLY NAHA you will NOT be bumped out of a qualifying spot for Sunday by a Rockwell only rider, but you could be bumped out a qualifying spot by someone riding both.  The way to maximize your winnings is to compete in both.  We estimate that there will be a total, combined pro purse for the weekend of somewhere between $35,000 and $45,000, not counting semi-pro classes, of course, which are 70% payback.

4. To check NAHA rules, click here.  To check Rockwell rules, check here.  We hope that all of you will choose to ride both.   There are two pro classes that are unique just to Rockwell, the 40+ Pro Masters class, and the 0-600cc pro class, which are running on Friday, September 13.  We also offer several other money classes for riders over 40, 50, and 60, women, minis, 250’s and so on, but they are run as non-licensed, semi-pro classes, and run on Thursday and Friday, depending on the specific class.

5. ALL PRO entries will be done through the NAHA and Rockwell websites, and will open on August 1, and close on September 6.  Everything else, from semi-pro to trophy classes, will be done through the Big Nasty Hillclimb website, which will open on July 21 and close on September 6.  To register for NAHA PRO classes at the Big Nasty, click here between August 1 and September 6.  To register for Rockwell PRO classes at the Big Nasty, click here between August 1 and September 6.  To register for ALL OTHER classes, including semi-pro, altered, mini bike and trophy classes, click here between July 21 and September 6.

Thursday At 9:00 AM Semi-Pro Classes

All bikes in the semi-pro classes must have at least 1 brake and tether kill switch.  No limit on fuel, length or rear tire, paddle tires and/or steel bolts or steel paddles are okay, (with safety rear fender).   Nitro and NOS are okay in these classes.  Except for the top 10, any licensed pros of the appropriate age, MAY enter the 250, senior, old timer, or super senior semi-pro classes, and ANY pro may enter the 450 stock, semi-pro class, which does NOT allow paddles or extended bikes.  70% cash payback in all of these classes.  NO RIDING UP!  You CANNOT ride a smaller bike in a bigger class.  If the class says 601-Up, the bike MUST have an engine at least 601cc.  Due to time limitations, we are NOT running 450 (extended), 700 or open semi-pro classes, we just can't squeeze them in!  But, if you have a bike 600cc or smaller, please consider the Rockwell 600 Pro class that runs on Friday afternoon.  That will be a great money class for a lot of you.  We ARE still running the 450 STOCK semi-pro class on Friday afternoon.
